What are contexts and issues that you work on? How are you using peace education to address these issues? What keeps you going?
Divisions in my context originate from social classification dating back to the colonial era and inherited from "New Spain'' to the national identity built in Mexico. This is related to concepts of ethnic origin, social class and privilege. The work I do involves space and individuals and generates connections among people by bending boundaries in different moments dıscussing identities. In this way, people can share and create bonds that didn’t previously exist.
How and why did you start working in peace education?
As a lawyer, I realized that the legal system was unprepared to really deal with conflicts and that justice was not being met through courts. So we, as individuals need to face our conflicts and work with them.
